A University of Toronto landmark, Hart House functions as the student centre. Inside the architecturally stunning structure is a world-class collection of Canadian art, and this much-lauded restaurant. Serving lunch and Sunday brunch only, the Gallery Grill has a brief but carefully designed menu, highlighted by fresh regional produce and flawless preparation. Start with the house cured duck prosciutto or a lovely local organic salad. Main courses include dishes such as organic salmon with Meyer lemon salad, and cassoulet with duck confit, lamb sausage and pork shank. The brunch menu leans more toward the lunch side with numerous options from their regular daily menu, but the frittata with roasted chestnuts, caramelized onions and cheddar is wonderful. |
